Library materials can be integrated into Canvas in many ways.

The MSU Library Resources link appears in the left course navigation bar of all Canvas courses. This link generally directs students to library resources tailored to the general subject area of a course. The link may also include a guide created for a specific course or to relevant databases from our A-Z Databases & Online Resources collection.

For individual resources: When linking to a resource from CatSearch, such as an article, use the "Permalink" on the resource's record to assure students will be be prompted for their MSU credentials. For information on stable links (URLS that can be safely used off campus), see our guide about library resources in Canvas.

For embed codes, such as MSU Quick Skills for Research Tutorials:

  1. In your Canvas course, move your cursor to the text box where you want to insert the embed code.
  2. You can either:
    1. Click on the "Insert" menu and select "Embed".
      OR
    2. Click on the Embed icon in the toolbar.
  3. Copy and paste the appropriate embed code to share the resource.
